Pirates To Induct Seven Time Mlb Mvp Barry Bonds Into Franchise Hall Of Fame

Barry Bonds to be Inducted into the Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Fame

Legendary Slugger to Join Elite Group in Franchise History

Bonds' Induction Adds to Pirates' Rich Legacy

The Pittsburgh Pirates announced on Friday that they will induct former seven-time MLB MVP Barry Bonds into their Hall of Fame.

Bonds, who played for the Pirates from 1986 to 1992, is widely regarded as one of the greatest baseball players of all time. He holds the MLB records for career home runs (762) and walks (2,558).

The Pirates' Hall of Fame induction is a fitting tribute to Bonds' remarkable career. He was a key member of the Pirates' 1990 and 1991 National League East championship teams and was named the NL MVP in 1990 and 1992.

  • Bonds was a 14-time All-Star and won eight Gold Glove Awards.
  • He led the NL in home runs seven times and in walks 12 times.
  • In 2001, he became the first player in MLB history to hit 73 home runs in a single season.

Bonds' induction into the Pirates' Hall of Fame is a testament to his exceptional talent and his significant contributions to the franchise.

The Pirates' Hall of Fame is located at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was established in 1991 to honor the greatest players and contributors in Pirates history.

Bonds will be inducted into the Hall of Fame along with former manager Jim Leyland and former catcher Manny Sanguillen. The induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, August 25, 2024.

The induction of Bonds, Leyland, and Sanguillen will add to the Pirates' already impressive Hall of Fame roster, which includes such legendary players as Willie Stargell, Roberto Clemente, and Honus Wagner.
