Lewandowski stars as Bayern dominates from start to finish
Bayern Munich delivered a stunning performance on Tuesday, crushing FC Barcelona 4-0 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final at the Allianz Arena. Robert Lewandowski was the star of the show, scoring twice and setting up another, as Bayern completely outplayed the Spanish giants from start to finish.
Bayern took the lead after just three minutes through Thomas Müller, who tapped home from close range after a cross from David Alaba. Lewandowski made it 2-0 in the 31st minute, heading in a cross from Joshua Kimmich. Barcelona struggled to create any clear-cut chances, and Bayern doubled their lead just before half-time through Lewandowski, who finished off a brilliant team move.
Barcelona improved slightly in the second half, but they were unable to find a way past the Bayern defense. Bayern continued to create chances, and Lewandowski completed his hat-trick in the 74th minute, tapping in a cross from Kingsley Coman.
The result leaves Barcelona with a mountain to climb in the second leg at the Camp Nou on May 1. Bayern, meanwhile, will be confident of reaching the final after such an impressive performance.
